Description
“Teoria do Jazz – Volume II” published by César Cardoso (2024)
After the creation of the book “Teoria do Jazz” in 2016 and the contribution it had to the teaching of Jazz in Portugal, it was important to complement this same book with a second volume that included all the remaining topics that did not appear in the first edition.
The book “Teoria do Jazz – Volume II”, appears with the aim of adding important information, some of it with a greater degree of complexity, so that the entire theoretical part of Jazz would be outlined in just 2 books.
This volume contains important topics such as the Jazz Tab, Bebop Scales, Modal Harmony, Polychords, Coltrane Changes, among many other topics. The final two chapters cover Standard Analysis and an Introduction to Arrangement through concrete topics, always using small examples for each of them.
The main objective of this book is, therefore, that the reader can complement and add theoretical content to the first volume, thus having all the topics used in Jazz.
This book have a preface by one of the musicians I most admire, the pianist Mário Laginha.
